Woman with Orca and Sea Glass

This piece is a little fantasy, you can make up your own story to go with the image. Several Alaska references here, the orca of course, and the sea glass, which was collected on Kodiak Island. The rocks and the shell come from the beach at Homer, Alaska. The little woman figure has been in the family for years, I have no idea where she is from, but I like her attitude!

Carol, I have your first book and have enjoyed it for years.

Just wanted to let you know I have started a new online community called Sea Glass Lovers http://seaglasslovers.ning.com/

I think you would enjoy joining and that other members would enjoy your knowledge.

We have just started and are under 1 month old with over 100 members already without any advertising. In 2009 we plan to launch the full site seaglasslovers.com

As one of the founding board members of the NASGA and owner of http://www.bytheseajewelry.com, I wanted a non commerical community just for collectors so there are no commercial postings but tons of ideas, sea glass locations and photos....

Hope to see you there

Hi Linda,
I'm pretty sure you have me mixed up with Carole Lambert, author of A Passion for Sea Glass. We have the same name, but I didn't write the book. However, I hope people will see the information you included in your comment and follow up, if they are interested in sea glass. It is beautiful and always fun to find!

I will chime in on the sea glass, too... because I just got rid of it from a recent still life because I wasn't sure how to not make it look like blobs, but like glass, so, it's good to see how you did it!
Glad you posted that other comment, too, that sounds very interesting.

I love this piece! I'm over from Eric Maisel's Sunday email and enjoy your work - I still have more to look at but something about this piece really catches me. Lovely work and blog.
